Encyclopédie soviétique de l'astronautique mondiale

French translation and adaptation (Éditions Mir, 1971) of the second edition (1970) of the Soviet encyclopedia Kosmonavtika. Malenkaya entsiklopediya, edited by academician Valentin Glushko and compiled by a collective of Soviet specialists. It gathers some two thousand entries spanning the whole of astronautics: spacecraft and rocket engines, propellants, navigation and flight dynamics, space communications, cosmodromes, space medicine and biology, geophysics, astronomy and space law, together with biographies of scientists, engineers and cosmonauts, both Soviet and foreign. The text is current to mid-1970. It is rounded out with portrait plates, a table of all world launches up to 30 December 1969, a trilingual (French-English-Russian) glossary-index and an international bibliography.
