Data Collected
SpaceBiblio may collect the following data:
- User account: email address, display name, institution (optional), preferred language.
- Browsing data: viewing history of catalogue entries (stored server-side for logged-in users, automatically purged after 90 days).
- Favourites and bibliographies: saved reading lists (logged-in users).
- Contact form: name, email, subject and message (transmitted via Formspree).
- Premium subscription: payment data processed by Stripe (SpaceBiblio does not store your payment details).
Purposes of Processing
- Managing user accounts and authentication.
- Providing features (favourites, history, bibliographies, export).
- Processing Premium subscriptions.
- Responding to contact requests.
- Improving the service (aggregated and anonymised data).
Legal Basis
Processing is based on:
- Performance of contract (account, subscription).
- Your explicit consent (contact form).
- Legitimate interest (service improvement).
Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as the account is active. Browsing history is automatically purged after 90 days. Subscription data is retained in accordance with statutory accounting obligations (10 years).
Data Sharing
SpaceBiblio never sells your data. Sub-processors involved are:
- Supabase (database and authentication) : hosted in Europe.
- Vercel (web hosting) : United States.
- Cohere (semantic search: search queries are transmitted to generate embeddings) : Canada.
- Stripe (payments) : United States.
- Formspree (contact form) : United States.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, port and object to your data. To exercise these rights, contact us.
You may delete your account at any time from the My account page.
Cookies
SpaceBiblio uses local storage (localStorage) to remember your language and display preferences. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are set.
Audience Measurement
SpaceBiblio uses Vercel Web Analytics, a cookie-free audience measurement tool: visits are counted in an aggregated, anonymous way (pages viewed, country, device type), with no individual identifier and no cross-site tracking. No personal data is collected for this purpose.
