Thomas de Galiana was a French scientific author and translator active during the 1960s and 1970s, specializing in the popularization of astronautics. He authored several encyclopedic works for Larousse on space topics, including À la conquête de l'espace (1967) and Dictionnaire des découvertes scientifiques (1968). He also translated into French Wernher von Braun and Frederick Ordway III's Histoire mondiale de l'astronautique. His Dictionnaire de l'astronautique (1963), prefaced by astronomer Paul Muller of the Paris Observatory, was the first encyclopedic dictionary of space science in the French language. The English translation was published by Collins in 1968 as Concise Encyclopedia of Astronautics.
