Enquête linguistique à travers la presse d'information à l'occasion de cinq exploits de cosmonautes
A linguistic study based on systematic analysis of the French national press during five cosmonaut achievements between 1961 and 1965 (Gagarin, Glenn, Nikolayev-Popovich, Cooper, Bykovsky-Tereshkova). The work identifies and classifies over a thousand lexical units in the semantic field of astronautics (fixed phrases, neologisms, borrowings from English and Russian) describing their formation mechanisms. A diachronic table traces the history of the space lexicon from 1912 to 1961. Completed by a twenty-five-page lexicological index and an eighty-reference bibliography, the volume constitutes the first systematic cartography of the space vocabulary in French.
