French aviation historian, pilot and documentalist. President of the bibliography, history and art commission of the Aéro-Club de France and director of the Centre de documentation aéronautique internationale, he was one of the collaborators of the Institut du Transport Aérien. A specialist in lighter-than-air craft, he is notably the author of Dirigeables. Histoire illustrée des navires aériens and of a study devoted to Amaury de la Grange. In L'Homme, l'air et l'espace he wrote the second part, "Hostilités et Paix," on the role of aeronautics during the two world wars and the rise of civil and military aviation.
