Pierre de Latil (1903–2001) was a French science journalist and popular-science writer. A regular science columnist for Le Figaro, he served as president of the French Association of Science Journalists (AJSPI) in 1968. The author of some thirty popular-science books on cybernetics, marine biology, astronautics, and technology, he co-wrote one of the first French introductions to cybernetics (La Pensée artificielle, 1953). Fascinated by the space age, he adapted several Soviet works on astronautics for French-language audiences and contributed to public understanding of the space race through accessible, rigorously documented books.
