František Link (Brno, 1906 – Paris, 1984) was a Czech astronomer specializing in atmospheric optics and lunar photometry. Educated at Masaryk University in Brno, he carried out postdoctoral work in France at the Lyon and Pic-du-Midi observatories (1931–1933) before joining the Ondřejov Observatory and becoming the first president of the Astronomical Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. His research spanned the Earth's atmosphere, lunar eclipses (of whose photometric analysis he was a pioneer) and lunar luminescence, as well as climatic cycles and general relativity, where he contributed to the study of the gravitational lensing effect. Expelled from the Czech Astronomical Society under the Communist regime, he settled in France late in life and was rehabilitated posthumously. He wrote several books, including Die Mondfinsternisse (1956). Asteroid (3550) Link is named after him.
