French poet Danielle Hemmert earned several literary prizes: the Prix Jacques Normand from the Société des Gens de Lettres, the Prix National de Poésie, and the Prix Sully-Prud'homme from the Académie Française (1958) for L'offrande à Don Juan. Her collections Toutes mes heures, Mon cœur, ce gueux and Confidences au jardin reflect a poetry of ardor and contemplation. A woman of broad literary interests, she contributed a series of Silhouettes contemporaines on prominent personalities and edited an Anthologie des femmes poètes contemporaines. Drawn to the thought of Teilhard de Chardin, she later co-authored some twenty books on the paranormal, esotericism, and occultism with Alex Roudène.
