American science educator, successively on the faculty of Michigan State University, Illinois State University, and Johns Hopkins University. Author of pedagogical works on science teaching and scientific careers (Teaching the Pursuit of Science, Opportunities in Chemistry Careers and Radioisotopes, Lippincott, 1962), he collaborated with James J. Haggerty Jr. on Spacecraft (1961) for the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), contributing the pedagogical approach of this space science primer.
