Jean Pellandini, a French science popularizer with a degree in natural sciences, was active in the 1950s and 1960s. He contributed two titles to the Presses Universitaires de France "Que sais-je?" series: Le Parachute (no. 817, 1959) and Les Fusées (no. 765, first edition 1957, second edition 1960). Associated with French astronautical circles, he dedicated Les Fusées to Robert Esnault-Pelterie, describing him as the "French pioneer of fuseonautics and astronautics." He also promoted the term fuséonautique (fuseonautics) to designate the transitional period between aeronautics and astronautics. His personal biography remains poorly documented.
