Jean Rivoire (1929–1993) was a French writer, engineer, and economist. A professor at the Centre d'études supérieures de banque and the École des hautes études politiques et sociales in Paris, he worked across two complementary fields: popular science writing, in close collaboration with Pierre de Latil, and economics and banking. With de Latil, he co-authored several widely read books, including À la recherche du monde marin (1954), published in English as Man and the Underwater World. In economics, he published reference works on banking techniques, the history of banking, and savings. His lecture on astronautics delivered before Parisian industrialists in December 1959 reflects the breadth of his intellectual interests.
