French science journalist (1927–2022), Robert Lechêne began his career at Ce Soir under Louis Aragon (1947–1953) before joining L'Humanité Dimanche, where he served as deputy editor-in-chief from 1956 to 1981. A member of the Association des journalistes d'information scientifique (AJIS) from 1958, he devoted himself to popularising astronautics, computing, robotics, and medical imaging, publishing several works in the "Le Demi-Siècle de la Science" series directed by Lucien Barnier.
