US

Frederic Golden is an American science journalist. Educated at the Bronx High School of Science in New York and then at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, he joined the weekly Time in the late 1960s as a science and environment writer. For several decades he covered major scientific developments there (foremost among them the conquest of space) before continuing his career at Discover magazine. A respected popularizer, he put a clear, accessible style at the service of the general public. Colonies in Space (1977) is among his books written for young readers.
