Malcolm Edwards (born 1949) is a British science-fiction editor, critic and anthologist, a Cambridge anthropology graduate. Joining Gollancz as an editor in 1976, he built a landmark list (Aldiss, Le Guin, Dick, Herbert, Clarke) and in a single month of 1984 published Ballard's Empire of the Sun, Gibson's Neuromancer and Holdstock's Mythago Wood. After moving to HarperCollins and then the Orion Group, he created the heritage SF Masterworks series (1999) and the SF Gateway digital library (2011). A respected authority on the field, he brings his encyclopaedic knowledge of science fiction to the book's commentary.
